Brett Aldridge, Regional Planning Manager, Environment Canterbury
“I was tasked to lead a senior management team meeting and for months the team had been discussing staff wellbeing, stress, and general engagement; and what we could do for our staff. It struck me that if we really wanted to address those things we had to ensure that as managers; we were in a good place. That is that unless we were managing our own health and well being we would struggle to manage others. I also wanted to create a fun session that challenged our thinking and focused on us (as people) rather than others. I had heard of laughter yoga and so I googled it and stumbled across the Workplace Wellbeing website. After an email exchange and at very short notice Hannah agreed to come and speak to the team about health and wellbeing and to take us through a laughter workshop.
The session was a real hit and is still talked about nearly a year later. Not only did the session provide real insight into happiness and wellbeing that transcended the just the workplace and into our personal lives; but by the end there were 30 local government senior managers and executives literally rolling in the aisles with laughter and the energy and positivity was infectious. While I was nervous about how things would go, Hannah seamlessly transitioned the group from a traditional seminar format to a laughter yoga session with 100% full participation. She delivered this in a way that eased, a generally conservative group of technocrats, from a theoretical to experiential experience of wellbeing and happiness and realisation of the importance of choice…and I’ve been invited to run another meeting in the future!” |

"Hannah presented a laughter workshop to our Real Estate salespeople, property managers and support team, this was unannounced and part joint meeting. The results were incredible, including the level of participation, belly aching laughter and the positive feedback. Highly recommended, an ideal session for a team like ours, who are dealing with stressed people and situations on a daily basis. Thank you Hannah for showing us, plus reinforcing, the power of laughter."

Jessie Larsen, Card Programme Business Lead, Z Energy
“We arranged for several teams across Z to take part in Laughter Wellness workshops for some light relief, to get better related with each other, and give them another tool in their arsenal to manage stress and anxiety at work. Overwhelmingly the feedback I received indicated the workshops ticked all of these boxes – it’s one of the craziest, most interesting and downright hilarious things I’ve ever done – definitely one to put on the bucket list!"

“You have really helped me re-assess my life and what I prioritise to make important. I have never made enough time for myself and you gave me that right! It has also helped me make changes to my exercise programme so that I am doing what I enjoy! Not what someone tells me I have to do and I dread doing it!! I have taken charge and am now enjoying my exercise!! So I really mean it when I say you have changed my life!."

Michelle McBride, Head of People and Development, Southern Cross
"Your Laughter Workshops was one of the Seminar Series, we run as part of our Wellness Programme at Southern Cross. Hannah has facilitated these seminars at our Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch offices for three years. Our employees really enjoy the opportunity to participate in a workshop that is fun and interactive. The opportunity for taking a break and laughing with team mates during the work day, definitely creates a real buzz for our employees and renews energy levels."
