The Science of Spin
What do workouts, circus and mental wellbeing have in common?

They all come together in Fogo Gogo's 'Science of Spin' workshops, which incorporate elements of hula hoop, poi and juggling to provide an all-inclusive, all-round workout for body, mind and soul.

This training is suitable for all ages, fitness and skill levels and has been tailored to put the 'fun' back into 'brain function.' Learning and practising circus skills combines mental and physical stimulation with the personal satisfaction and confidence boost that comes naturally from the successful execution of a new trick.

During the course, participants will learn and practice a number of circus exercises and skills designed to elevate their confidence, co-ordination, memory, mood and spatial awareness. Most circus tricks involve training of the 'split brain', which means increasing the rate, volume and specificity of information passed between hemispheres of the brain; resulting in a greater ability to multi-task. In addition to promoting increased mental activity, the physical aspects of circus arts ensure that the body must 'come along for the ride' and co-ordinate its movements with the mind.

Exercise has been shown to improve memory retention and formation, as well as helping focus, general health and mental wellbeing. By providing both body and brain with stimulation Fogo Gogo has created a workshop program that will leave you feeling de-stressed, physically energised and cognitively balanced, while adding exciting and impressive new circus skills to your repertoire.
