Metro meets Retro Sports!
|
Remember the good old days? Elastics, dodge ball, egg and spoon races, petanque, three-legged races? What about trying your version of human foosball?!
Get your teams together, mix them up and ready-set-go! There's a Grandstandium for the spectators, scoreboard, commentary box, loud hailer, even binoculars! And if you're going to be hungry, let us know and we'll stoke up the wood fired pizza oven and provide the toppings for you to make your own pizza! Retro Sports Facility and Grandstandium
The Retro Sports Facility and Grandstandium are Gap Filler projects in Christchurch. The Retro Sport Facility activates the green space at The Commons (cnr Kilmore and Durham Streets) and features sporting equipment that’s available to the public to use daily. The Grandstandium is a relocatable grandstand atop a trailer and is Gap Filler's version of CCDU’s stadium anchor project, presently scheduled for completion in 2019. For more information on these projects please visit Gap Filler's website.
Pizza Oven
In March 2013, this wonderful handmade, woodfired pizza oven was made by CPIT architecture students using clay, bricks and pallets. The pizza oven is located at The Commons, 70 Kilmore Street and is available for hire.
